Alcatraz – not necessarily addictive, but it is a plus!
One of the most famous prisons in the United States of America is about to reveal its secrets in the new Fox show Alcatraz, starting next Monday, January 16th, 8 PM. Executive producer of the show is J.J. Abrams – a man renowned about his ability to spin a web of mysteries that keep his fans spare time occupied. We see that happen with Lost and Fringe, so it will probably be the same with Alcatraz. So, one of the questions that rise in our mind when we here about new J.J. Abrams’ show is – will it be easily accessible, will it give us some time out of the living room or we have to be stuck to the TV screen?
If you have missed last few months of your Tube calendar, or have been out of town, on Mars perhaps, here is a swift re-run of what Alcatraz is going to be. Created by Elizabeth Sarnoff, Steven Lilien, Bryan Wynbrandt series follow detective Rebecca Madsen’s investigation of crimes, committed by Traz inmates. What is funny here, is that The Rock officially was closed down 50 years ago. At the time of its closing all the prisoners mysteriously disappeared and now are back to horrify San Francisco. To add to that they have not aged a single day since they vanished. Sounds intriguing? Do not miss the chance to watch Alcatraz online.
So, every week, in every episode, we will have a new inmate resurfacing and committing a new crimes. The idea, according to J.J. Abrams is that it will not matter if you are fan of the show or seeing it for the first time – you will be easily drawn into the action on the screen. Every week we will have a new villain, whose story will be partially revealed by a flashbacks to the time when The Rock struck fear in the hearts of the criminals.
So, the Alcatraz won’t suck all your free time and will be able to afford the luxury to skip some of the episodes because the show will be build in a way that you don’t have to know everything about everyone in it to enjoy it. How long will this design work remains to be seen. Something similar happened in the first season of Fringe, but it did not last very long. Si, if you have missed episode or two, don,t worry, because you can always watch Alcatraz online.
