There is something magical and highly attractive in the idea of mysterious island. It is like a song of a mermaid to all the sci-fi creators, song that they just can not or will not neglect. The previous time when the producer J. J. Abrams, actor Jorge Garcia ans director Jack Bender started to explore mysterious island, they found a treasure. ABC’s epic story Lost was born and in 2005 the show got the Emmy award for Best Drama Series.

Now the team is together again, preparing the fine mixture of talent and hard work, we also got the mystery island in the Fox new series Alcatraz that will kick off on January 16th, 2012. We all know how tough the battle for Emmy can be. We also know that Lost was the only sci-fi/fantasy show to prevail in the Best Drama Series category. In the heart of the story is police detective Rebecca Madsen (Sarah Jones) and her sidekick – Diego Soto (Jorge Garcia). In Alcatraz we will see some other excellent actors: Sam Neill, best known for his part in Jurassic Park, Parminder Nagra who acted nice in ER, Robert Forster, Santiago Cabrera and Jason Butler Harner. All these performers were guided for the pilot episode of Alcatraz by the talanted Elizabeth Sarnoff, Steven Lilien and Bryan Wynbrandt.

The story in this TV show kicks off with a murder investigation of the homicide division in San Francisco Police department. Detective Madsen and an Alcatraz history expert (Garcia) start to work together after it came clear that behind this a murder is Traz inmate who disappeared from the Rock 50 years ago and was considered dead.

It seems that the convict Jack Sylvane (Jeffrey Pierce), who meanwhile have not become older since the time he spent on the island, is the first but not last to return.
